Does anybody have any idea where to get an exhasut or mufflers for the 1984-86 VF1000. Will the exhaust or mufflers from the 700 or 750 or any other bike fit. I have found a set of laser mufflers for a 750 but nothing for these bikes. I see people with these bikes all over the web showing pictures ands how they went to an aftermarket exhasut (vance & hines, hindle, etc.) but I cannot find one anywhere. Any help is appreciated.

They don't make anything for them any more. You'd have to find used. Your most likely to find hens teeth before you find an after market exhaust. (one that works that is) Besides I don't think your exhaust is causing you the problem you have. See your first post.

You might try a set of either VTR1000F SuperHawk pipes or CBR1100XX ones. It's been reported that the CBRXX pipes fit pretty easily. I know that the VTR pipes are very close and only require a small amount of tweaking to get lined up. I'm sure you'll have a lot easier time finding pipes for those models than you will for the VF.

I almost forgot a brainstorm I had when I had my bike. I bought the complete exhaust system from a Hayabusa just so I could get the cans with connectors because I thought they looked close, or at minimum I could get connector pipes made to mate with the cans. Still got them in the garage, if you'd like to try cheaply. Nice looking AL cans too.

    Just an idea.

And I THINK you can get F1 cans for the F model, should fit.

Right now, ebay.co.uk. both rt and lf stock cans, in real nice condition. If you can get both, good deal, if not, get the left one and I will send you my rt one for real cheap. Good luck, be patient and make sure the seller will sell to US first.

If you mean Cobra F1's, no they aren't.
