I've always wondered about that point. The hoses are made to withstand high hydraulic pressures and the constant flexing from suspension movements, and the calipers aren't that heavy. Is there really any risk of damaging the hoses by letting them dangle?

Short term... No. Not at all imo. But the conservative HSM says otherwise. I think it has more to do where the lines (rubber or otherwise) are swaged into the fittings. Not ideal for that connection.

Your empty arms aren't that heavy. Hold them out to the sides for 5 minutes and report back how light they feel.

Just like a warning label, there's a reason why it's there. Something has failed and possibly someone has been hurt already. And insurance had to pay.

CB-1....A dream bike for me. They never come up for sale here in TX. I guess they just did not sell back in the day.

    Cap
Your CB1 looks in great shape, in fact I would think it was a restored bike considering how clean it is
Maybe the time gods will be nice to me in the spring and allow me to get mine out , it must be nearly 10 years, god

Resto. Frame up. Crashed pretty heavily and bought it off the customer at the shop. Built it for my wife.

Motor, wheels and brakes are original. Oh and the lower fork legs. Bought new crankcase covers from Honda. Everything else refinished. I'll snap some pics when I get the bodywork back on. 1994 VFR Pure Red with extra gold pearl along with factory decals. It pops, but looks like Honda made it that way.

The one I have was slid down the road as well, had to replace one of the lower fork tubes and gauge housing also replaced the seat and rear cowling with a fiberglass one piece that looks like the RC30, had it painted red and silver, looked different and sounded great with a Kerker exhaust
They were only brought into Canada two years, 1989 and 1990 I believe, mine is a 89 number 39 if memory service me

Dig that sucker out. Yeah, same 2 years for the US.

Had a Sudco 4-1 on it when I first built it. Because I bought the two LAST new systems from them, the kits had been robbed a bit while sitting in inventtory, so they shipped them with large diameter un-rebuildable race cans. Sounded great at first but got pretty damn loud. Swapped to a full Kerker for a bit. Looked and sounded good, but LOUD AS FUCK. Currently has stock headers mated to a CBR600F2 Yosh slip on. Sounds good. LOUD AS FUCK. I'm sure the muffler needs re-packing, but getting Yosh slip-ons apart is a challenge without damaging the unit. Finally got a slide hammer and am going make a bolt on bracket to take some yanks. I sourced a rebuildable 2" Sudco muffler, so the Sudco systme is going back on. Might sell the Stock/Yosh set-up when I'm done.
