Hi Fellow VFR400R NC24 admirers. I am attempting to bring a 1987 VFR400R NC24 back to life for a friend to enter in classic racing series in New Zealand. I have some experience of working on motorcycles but that was many years ago and I have had little to do with v fours. The bike has had 22 previous owners and has sat neglected and exposed to the elements for at least 10 years. It has quite a lot of external corrosion but not too severe. After replacing all the orings on the air and fuel pipes to the carburetors and cleaning them I have got the bike to run and the engine sounds good and gearbox works ok. While the speedo says about 46,000km the records suggest it has done about 60,000km. I am expecting rings will be seized due to sitting for so long and that the motor will need to come apart. I would very much like to know if the NC30 head gaskets fit the NC24 and whether full radiator hose sets and rocker cover gaskets can be found anywhere? Hoping someone can help.
