1987 Tail Section Plastics???

I have a serious dilemma... My tail section was broken and cracked after a crash, and I depserately need a new one... my taillight is barely held onto the bike by a wing and a prayer... problem is, I can't locate the plastic ANYWHERE. I was gonna have VFRChuck fab me up one, but the guy is proving impossible to contact, and also has ridiculous wait times... Does anyone on this forum know of anyplace I can get one? I'll pay for the part if you have one layin around, not lookin' for freebies or anything. Even if you know of a similar plastic that will suffice as a replacement, that'd be fine, I just need something to prevent me from losing that taillight...

see if targa might have parts or look up bates used cycle parts......they may have some.....................other then that ebay search continues....

For some reason they made the side panels the same as the tailpiece....

Not knowing gen 2 all that well, and if you ride 2 up ever, This may not be for you but we did the 2000 R6 race tail in her gen 3. I was a used $50 race part off ebay and rebuilding the rear frame extention. My point is if you can work the metal of the rear of the bike, you can attach about any tail.

 

If you don't find one, I have a spare, it has cracks in the usual spot by the reflectors but real nice, the bike only had 6k it came off. My bike had 5k and cracks in the same spot I reinforced them with Plastex....good so far.

 

ended up just purchasing the one from the above link. I think Ebay will hold Mr. Chuck to the delivery times he promised there =P but thanks so much for all your help fellas, I knew I could count on you guys

 

When you receive the part, you'll be REAL happy. I've seen the product and they're nothing short of fantastic.

 

i am also looking for a tail section it is the last part i need for my bike to finish up the resto.. please help or guide me in the direction
