Hard to say without knowing more.... count on a new engine at worst..... I'd ask the owner what the circumstances were leading up to the "lock up"... go from there.

Yeah, the bike look really nice. Not sure what parts available are for this engine.
Just went through a major ordeal with my VF500F and don;t really want to repeat it.

But man, it sure looks nice.

I just got a response. Antifreeze in the front bank of cylinders. Is it hopeless?

So, blew a head gasket in 2019 and let it sit with water/coolant..... no wonder it's seized. Who knows what condition the cylinders are in.
I can't tell you to buy it or not, only you know what you want to put into it, can you get parts or another engine........

Keep in mind the 87 engine is different than the 86. Digital ignition system without the cam sensor. So you would need a 87 donor engine for the easiest swap if it came to that. Not impossible, but narrows the field.

I am out...it has a Salvage title from Michigan. Not into the paperwork battle I will have to face.

Too bad, it looked in really good condition from the outside. Good parts bike for someone.
