Not as uncommon as you may think. I used to buy produce from a local farmer and he had a Goldwing in the same shape. He had large barns where he could have stored it but it was left uncovered outdoors to deteriorate.. Some people just don't care about looking after things.

yeh, hits home more when you have a love affair with something, and you see another person totally disrespect or neglect what you deem should have never fallen into disrepair in the first place. Could make a neat black and white print possibly to hang on the wall. If it was close by and for the right price (400 dollars) I would go for it.

(400 dollars)? I would expect someone to pay me to take away a bike in that condition.

It would definitely be a fun job to restore it if one had the right workspace and tools. I used to love doing thing like that when i was younger, especially with my buddies.

Agree with you 100% about how it hurts to see someone neglect a bike when you are an avid motorcyclist. One of my neighbors who has more money than brains parked a BMW S1000RR uncovered outside for years. He bought it, couldn't ride it and bought a Tourer. He got divorced and left the bike with the wife, the bike still sat there for more years until last year when it disappeared last year. I happened to meet him and asked him if the bike was sold. Nope, he just moved it to a new outdoor storage space. I had offered to buy it from him at his price when I first saw it a few years ago, but he prefers to let it rot outdoors. Go figger!

One thing I've learned in life is you cannot save most people from themselves.. that thing is a parts bike, not a restoration project......

Love those ads that you see Divorce Forces Sale, second favorite Baby Forces Sale. Depending on how disintegrated it is, it could be resurrected, without inspection your pissing in the wind. Far as being paid to take the bike away, just being a general good guy and liking this year bike, I would flip the guy 300-400. If its a washout, I could cover my costs by selling off the 8 spoke rear wheel, and maybe the left exit exhaust.

My 93 I bought was a non runner and I had to use my trailer to pick it up. All I knew was the motor was not locked up and it had a good title. I paid 500 dollars for that bike, but it was stored inside and not loved and had lots of bumps, scrapes, bruises. Its rusted gas tank probably protected it from being misused as I replaced that among other things. Peace

Oh I’ve thought about that , I would like to take it apart just to see if there is any thing salvageable.
