    Hi all:
I have a 1991 VFR 750 that I don't ride often enough and I guess gas gums up the carburetors and it won't hold idle. I've taken them out and cleaned them and gotten the bike running fine 3-4 times over the years. This time, it starts and idles fine, but doesn't seem to have any power. I can't let the clutch all the way out before it dies, even though holding it at about 4000 RPM. So is this a problem with the carbs sitting too long also? Should I try cleaning them out again? TIA.

Sounds like it is time again. It also sounds like it is time to identify where the carb float bowl drains are and use them in the Fall. You wouldn't be going thru this.

Typically if a bike starts and idles it will be ok, but obviously not this time. I think you should remove your airbox lid and check for rodent housing.

You also might want to check the condition of your slide diaphragms if you are not running a critter Airbnb.
