I am looking to track down a set of front brake calipers for my 1994 VFR. I would like to do this without them costing more than the bike is worth! Does anybody know if any other manufacturers calipers fit my bike?

Try a breaker's yard since the same calipers were used on VFRs for many years.

Just wondering why you need replacements when yours could be refurbished with new seals ??

I did the seals last year, but I noticed on a recent clean that the caliper housing has started to break up around the piston so the seals are starting to break through and is causing problems with the piston retracting.

What are you riding thru there across the pond? Major SALT in dah winter??? sheesh, I rebuilt my 20 year old calipers and re-used the seals and dust seals too! I did spend over an hour cleaning out all the calcified crap of two decades, matter of fact I was able to use some top secret aviation stuff that anodizes naked aluminum inside the bores/if I could-ah I woulda ordered new seals, but WTF, if they leaked (which they didnt - I woulda had to do half the job ova.) AnyWho - I re-built a caliper recently which would not do with the old seals as it leaked and I had no lever (pedal) (you get the picture) - So I sprung for a gen-You-Whine Yamahama kit, which worked perfect....

You can re-build your cruddy calipers if they aint been under the ocean....CHEEERS

Yeah, I do about 20k miles a year and the winters are harsh here with salt & snow. So, as the bike has done 85k so far I think that they have just given up the will to live.
