I have a 2000 VFR800Fi that is not running smoothly below +-3500Rpm. As you pull away it gives the feeling of a mis-fire until going through +-3500Rpm then she runs very smoothly all the way through the rev range. as soon as you slow down again and start accelerating from below the above mentioned revs then she runs very rough again. I first cleaned out the Fuel Filter and made sure that all the fuel lines were not restricted, then I tried disconnecting the two O2 connectors and bridging the contacts with two 330 Ohm resistors as mentioned in the forums, but not much better. I don't know if I should try and disconnect the PAIR system as this is not a VTEC machine. I would appreciate it if anyone could assist with info.

The second item that I would like some info on isas such. Is there anybody that has manufactured a carrier system for their 2000 VFR800Fi ? If so can you please let me have the details. Thanks

sounds like a fueling issue but I would do a compression test first. It's easy and it virtually eliminates anything mechanical.

What's the history? Has the bike ever ran right for you or did you buy it like this?

May be a partially plugged injector.

Carrier system? - Givi luggage and wingrack.

Hi thanks. Yes it was running very well until I ran the tank right down and then after refilling it just started all of a sudden. I have also been thinking about an injector that is partially blocked as the fuel filter was very dirty. Do you think that by running it with injector cleaner will help?

Did you change were you bought gas? I switched from exxon to sheetz gas and my bike ran like garbage. Now I have to run premium as the ethanol in the gas now makes it run poorly. Get some fuel system cleaner as well. I have some roughness at lower revs on mine, I plan to do the pair blockoff this winter as well as sync the throttle bodies. You should be able to get it to smooth out some, but these bikes never quite had the right fueling at lower rpms, I live with it.
