2002 VFR 800 Stator is making a rumbling sound at idle and low revs

    I just installed a new stator and it causes a loud rumbling sound at idle and low revs. If I unplug the stator from the rectifier/power supply the noise goes away, it seams to be charging the battery fine. Anybody have any idea what would cause it to make this noise?

    I would check all the mounting bolts, strong magnetic forces under load maybe causing stator to vibrate at a low frequency. Coils should be epoxied to frame, nothing else could vibrate! Keep us updated!
