    Hi all,

Last saturday I became the proud owner of a 2003 VFR800 ABS.
Colour silver, in absolute new condition with 25.000 kilometers on the clock.

    I've got a few questions:

    - The steering was quite heavy riding home, I had to input quite a bit of force to keep it in the corner. Upon arriving home I checked the tyre pressure and found it being way too low. Could that be a cause? Something else to look for?

    - Is there any known way of achieving GP/Reverse shift on this model? I know it's possible with SATO rearsets, but they're quite expensive.

    Thanks in advance!
    Lukas

Just replaced my front tire, I was having same problem. I didn’t check pressure before changing, because it was worn with flat sides on either side of center. But I think pressure was low too because there was a big improvement in turning the front in the driveway.

No doubt that was the problem, you may want to check on the production date on the sidewall to see how old they are
Also there was a recall on that year so call your local Honda stealership and they will check if it was done by your Vin#
    Enjoy bud
OH pictures or it didn’t happen

    Thanks guys :)
Yea I figured it could be the tyres.. They are BT021 tyres so they're probably quite old, yet they've got very little miles on them.
Going to put some more air into the tyres and I'll see how she handles.

I'll upload a picture later when I get home.

i think you made a big mistake in your excitement to ride away on your new bike............:homer:

It's safest to never trust the tire pressure on any strange bike, maybe the owner is a dummy ? measure psi b4 riding, ya never know...............

i remember the one time i took a VFR700 i wanted out for a test ride, heavy feel in steering, returned immediately and found 15 psi in the front tire !!!

lesson learned, and i'll never do that again :( It's easy to feel very low front tire pressure by turning the steering lock-to-lock b4 you ride. shouldn't be too much resistance.

Yea... Apparently the previous owner wasn't as religious on tyre pressures as I am LOL...

Measured front pressure yesterday... 1.4Bar LOL!!!

Here's the promised picture by the way :)
