Has anyone replaced their 2004 Honda VFR 800 spark plugs with NGK type
plug: IMR9B-9H? If so, did you get good mileage out of this type of plug.

Otherwise, how many miles can you get with DENSO type plug: VNH27Z, which is their Iridium (expensive) type plugs?

Lastly, has anyone else used an Autolite or other manufacturer type plug on their 2004 Honda VFR 800 bike? If so, were the results good or not. Appreciate your comments.

    Don

Finally a spark plug thread, sheesh, Sorry, I'm no help, just felt I needed to comment. all thou Mine are NGK, went looking for other plugs as I'm a fan of the Iridium/platinum plugs, but wouldn't ya know it, no one has any, not even the dealer. So went with what it came with which is NGK, bad enough as it was  price wise.

Here's what they looked like with 19k on em

    Good, specific questions, but....

First of all, to my knowledge, NGK's have always been top-quality spark plugs. I'd never put an Autolite plug in any of my Japanese bikes because since I began riding in 1966 I've used NGK's. Even then, I was told that NGK's are the "cadillac" of spark plugs.

Well ok, first off is enough.

To be honest I don't think other manufacturers make plugs for this bike other than NGK and Denso, nor do I recall seeing any other than iridium for this bike.

Check amazon. I just installed a new set of plugs on my "02, which uses the same plugs as yours. They ran me $41.00 for the set. It was the cheapest I could find anywhere.

All 4 of my old plugs were fouled due to a rich running condition that was reaking havoc on my MPG's. I was at 28mpg, and after fresh plugs I got a nice boost in power and MGP. Runnning close to 40 mpg now.

My buddy needed a set for his 03 CBR, $14.50 each at the NAPA across the border, the Dealer on the Canadian side wanted $30+ a plug.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I do believe that iridium plugs are mandatory. Which is probably why iridium is all that you can find.

NGK and Denso aren't the only manufacturers that make spark plugs for the VFR800 Junyr. Brisk Racing does too.

Iridium is a very strong and hard spark plug center electrode material but it's not even close to being the best thermal or electrical conductor,Silver is. Here are a couple alternate spark plug options for your VFR800 that you might want to look into my friend.

Brisk Racing produces two different Silver center electrode spark plugs for the VFR800,the AR10ZS Racing, and the AOR10LGS Premium. The AR10ZS plugs have a maximum service life of 12,000 miles, the AOR10LGS plugs have a maximum service life of 18,000 miles.

Here are a couple pics so you can see the difference between the two Brisk spark plug designs compared to an OEM stock NGK Iridium spark plug.
The NGK IMR9B plug is on the left, the Brisk AOR10LGS Premium plug is in the middle, and the Brisk AR10ZS Racing plug is on the right.

All the pertinent info you ever wanted to know about Brisk Racing spark plugs can be found on their home website. It's some very interesting reading gentlemen, enjoy.

Here's the link. Click me.>>>>>Brisk USA Enterprises, LLC

I ordered my Brisk spark plugs from Optimum Performance Products Racing (OPP Racing). As you'll read for yourself there are a few performance benefits to these Brisk spark plugs, but there is also a caveat here gentlemen.
Remember the old adage "Speed costs money. How much you got?" Well it applies here because those Brisk spark plugs cost $17.50 each. Yep,that's $70.00 for a set of four spark plugs. :scared:

I put a set of Brisk performance plugs in last week. Here is what I notice. Smooth throttle response bottom to top, through vtec transition is smoother as well. Idle is better with less of a thump. Sounds up so smooth you feel like your not making POWER but down to see your running much faster than it feels you should be. It's a feeling. A very good feeling of raw power on demand. First gear cornering, flick throttle controlled back wheel spin! They are worth the money.

I think I am too, my plugs have 8600 miles on them, I believe in changing things out early and it does look like silver would work extremely well and I may get a set for my car too, I got $200 sitting at pay pal from my last kitten sale, the plugs look cheap at amazon.:bounce: I may need more info on this subject

I put a set of these in my Tiburon as well, and they made a big difference there too. Same thing; smooth idle, and running much higher in the rev range at cruise; however the car, and my bike seem to be much much quieter running; because of how smooth they're operating. There's also a noticeable difference in more miles per gallon.

I ended up going with denso-smallist firing .04-this may fire better than nkg and they ended up costing low $30-don't try and change the gap-they were all set at .35 from the factory-messing with can break the electrode -haven't installed them yet.
