Ok so I know you all are bias, but if I had the choice between a 2004 BMW R1100s Boxer Cup and a 2007 Candy Apple Red VFR which should I go with. I'm looking for fun to ride, yet still some touring.

Realizing of course you are going to tell me VFR, but I'm wondering why?

    thnx

07VFR = Low Maintenance and many mod. to your taste :)
04 BMW = More money come out of your pocket for Maintenance period.

Tough question. I would like to try a BMW boxer for distance riding, but the VFR sure is fun to push through corners, and the V4 is silky smooth and sounds really nice above 8K...

I have ridden both and prefer the VFR. I dont like the boxer engine (buzzy at higher RPMS) and really hate the torque steer on that bike. Riding position is similar (sporty touring). The nice thing about the R motor is that there are no plastics to remove to do head/valve maint and my buddy who has one has a DVD on how to do a major service so he saves $$.

You really shouldn't attempt to compare the two.

The VFR is an all around bike that's pretty good at most things.

The BMW is a complete poseur trying to pretend it's a legit sport bike.

    KC-10 FE out...
