I know there has been a few posts about this already but I've never seen a definite answer as to what will and won't fit. While fixing my clutch hose I knocked my 90' vfr750f over (dumb). and broke the top fairing above the mirrors. Will a 4th gen fairing fit on there? The only other option i've seen is the kit from thurn which is nice but i don't have the money for that. I might just grind of the splintered fiberglass and cut a new windscreen to stop at the mirrors instead. R*

3M has a kit for gluing the fairings from behind so you don't see the repair. I've used it numerous times on my bike to add structure behind cracks so they don't spread. It's basically, crazy glue, a primer (or the glue), fiber glass for reinforcing, and a drying agent for the crazy glue. Done correctly, these repairs are worth their weight in gold!

What about the Lego brick and acetone trick called out earlier this week?

I've never had to fix bike plastics, so I've never tried it...

Thanks for the help. I'd love to fix it but i believe it's past that point. I have to do another damage check but the top part smashed into a few pieces and i'm not sure i even have them all. I was hoping to find something online that would fit in it's place. The stock ones from honda are $350 a piece and ebay is not much better. Also where can i find a cheap replacement windshield? and will the stock one go back on securely if the fairing section above the mirrors is gone?

Before you abandon all hope of fixing it, I've had good results using thin, non-woven 1.5" wide fiberglass 'tape' (kind of like really thin, dense and tight mat) with resin to fiberglass cracks up from the back side. Grind and clean first, you can drill small holes and use baling wire ('racer wire') to hold the pieces in place to glass them and then after it's set up you can clip off the twisted baling wire and fill the front side cracks and little holes you drilled with fiberglass reinforced body filler (although not the 'hair' type on the front as it doesn't smooth and finish well). It takes a bit of time, but you can get a good result. I have even left the front side after reinforcing the back, it's less noticeable than you'd think. Then you can ride the bike while you watch fleabay for that elusive 'perfect' part that will show up needing the same repairs that you just did.... ;)'

U know there is always Airtechs race fairings (some assembly required) @ $262- their discription below

    RVF 750 1991-92
    RVF1
    Upper fairing
This is the upper fairing to our two-piece race fairing assembly for the RVF750. No headlight holes and is a race only fairing. This is the first generation of the RVF fairing, and there are no intake ducts on the upper fairing. This upper works with our RVF2 lower belly pan and is a popular fairing assembly for people with empty 650 Hawk conversions.
