While putting the carbs back together on my '96, I realized that the air funnels in the air box are not all the same length. The Honda factory manual says short ones in the front, but some carb assembly pictures I see online seem to have the long ones in the front. Does anyone have any reasoning for thinking they go one way or the other? Does it matter?

I have heard all kinds of combinations. From what engineering know, they tune different intakes to different lengths to spread the torque curve. Longer equals more torque, shorter equals higher HP at higher RPM.

So, I trust shorter up front, if they say so.
