5th Gen Newbie: How to replace headlights?

My first posting as a new 1998 5th Gen owner - What a great bike!!! Bottomline is I'm trying to figurte out how to take out one of the headlight bulbs so I can replace it. I think I can just access the location without taking off the fairings - do I need to pull back the rubber seal or is it a simple twist of the wiring assembly either counterclockwise ot clockwise? - or do I need to do something completely different? Appreciate the help!
