My o5' vfr non abs with 17k miles low beams stopped working. I switched on the high beams to get home.
Long story short- I tried everything -check bulbs, relays, clean switches, check electric power, forums, Haynes manual, wiring diagrams and still no lights. Finally I tried spraying the fuse-box and all the electric connectors with contact cleaner and blew out with pressurized air. That was the problem. The bike sat for a long time and gathered too much dust. Hope this helps someone.

These bikes do funnel a lot of dust. If you haven’t gotten the recall done. Recommend you do. My 05 was a dirty girl with just 7700 miles on it when I rescued her from a commuter via a garage sale. I Strip down the plastic and dust er off about every 7-10k. Clean all plastic, hidden compartments, contacts and harnesses etc.
