I am in need of a new stator for my 5th gen, it crapped out on me on a trip from Calgary to Vancouver and left me stranded in Vancouver, I can't find the Honda OEM part anywhere in Canada or get it shipped her either. I've read a lot of horror stories about the replacement stators crapping out in 5000km ish and I would prefer to get a quality Honda part if possible. I've heard people swapping 6th gen stators and rotors into 5th gen, from what I understand it's just a bit bigger, would this cause clearance issues? Has anyone ever done it before? Can't find a thread where someone actually documented going through with it.
It has been done... not sure about the clearance thing... On VFRDisscusion, a few guys have done it and there is threads about details...
