Just wonder how to make the most power out of a 2006 vrf 6th generation using the best after market parts. I see its not that easy. So far I only see three options -5th gen headers, Dev headers, gutted cat-using stock headers. What makes the most power? Any idea's? Not looking for noisy pipes-just more power:evil:

Too much dough for a SC, maybe a reworked cat, power commander 3, and Leo Vincent alu slip -ons. How about using a custom made cat? I know a air filter like a K-N is adds a little power. That Sc costs as much as the bike did. I am not looking to go to insane. I took off the front fairing-everything is like brand new except for dirty oil filter-and oil-does look like it was changed before though-It has 1500 miles on oil. Soon going on the road.:vtr2:

I believe the SC is no more.

Money wise, I'd say it's not worth it unless your wallet is thick. Scuba is on the right track. The two option that REALLY show performace gains are turbo's and SC's when there isn't any internal engine parts available. Air intake and exhaust price to performance ratios are terrible. I got a can for less weight, sound, and I got it cheap.

I like cheap extra power-even if its not much, Looks like a LV slip on- power commander, HP air filter and a modded cat is about it:spider: Oh I like to mod bikes as long as it does something good! Looking at the seat- tires fork oil stuff like that gets done first-except I think a slip on-is req just to take some weight off and get the req sound out of the v4!:potstir:

APC is only good if you get it dyno tuned to YOUR bike.

Online map will work fine, but if you want to be perfect than Dyno
I used to run the map from PC but now run custome map for my set up. Frankly I could not tell the differences between the two after few years.

A Dyno is expensive and hard on the engine, as they say online maps are close enogh-sometimes you need to try different maps, I did that on my car with a dsp-tried three maps, ended with one bad map and two good maps-one for 91 gas and one for 93 gas-I run a srt-4 turbo car- that goes 0-60 with a stock turbo in 5 secs. I was thinking that I should first try- a HP air filter and a power commander-then later a LV slip -on, but I am getting too far ahead my other lists are fork oil change-new tires-maybe some seat work-I know of a guy who fixes seats and he real good. I checked on getting a temp plate so I can try the bike out. I don't think a real plate is worth getting till march 2014 because I have to pay double taxes and reg fees:ballchain::clock:

to go catless-I need a 99-2001 exhaust pipes-I guess. Would a 99-2001 exhaust pipes work with a stock exhaust system on a 2006 vfr? or do have to add something to hook up stock cans too? I am guessing you need to add another pipe to make up for the lack of the cat or maybe not!:hi2:
