The start button on my right hand control does not spring back so I have to manually disengage the stator. I would buy a new one, but the right hand control switch for an 83' is unavailable. Does anyone know if the 84' VF750F(35130-MF2-P00) is wired the same way as it was in 83' and would work with no modifications?

It seems to me that I have repaired at least one starter switch somewhere in my past. They are really nothing more than two contact points, a "wiper" of sorts that connects the contact points, and a small spring. They are a bit delicate, but nothing horrible. I seem to remember a ball point pen donating it's spring as a replacement item.

Just something to think about before you throw it away.

these right hand controls are around to replace what you have-- you will find numerous left hand switches but the right one is the hardest and most expensive. I also have contacts for this part and any other parts needed- they are not real cheap, but obtainable and the issues with this part is the start button will break everything else remains good in the control. I have an 83 it is the red one the blue is the harder one to find parts for- this part for the 83 is a 1 year part, no other years or models will work for it- make certain of the main plug configuration, know exactly what you are looking for to avoid issues- I learned the hard way; so I know what I am saying. it will be a red plug, 9 pin with 7 wires and no jump wire in the plug---I have spent numerous hours in research and buying parts for my bike..if u need help, holla !!!.
