So I pulled the case off and found the #17 spring broke. I was able to fish it out of the oil pan.

My problem is replacing it. Any ideas on a source? I contacted Bikebandit and they told me it's no longer available.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Ahh, you are correct, sir. I deserve it.

She is sorta a stray. Good friend of mine had it years ago when I lived in Detroit. Left it outside uncovered for a couple years, unridden. Drove me crazy. Convinced him to let me keep it in my house. That's it in my front room in my avatar. When I moved to Denver, he just gave it to me.

Working on getting her roadworthy again.

Thank you very much for the link!

There was a service bulletin on those springs way back in 84. Ask me how I know............Ever try and start out in 3rd gear?

I offered to look for one in my spare parts in the other thread, what is the reference for #17? So I know what to look for.
