85 VF700F Rear Cylinders Cam Install

    I am frustrated. Installed new rocker arm on #1 Cylinder (Exhaust). Only removed exhaust cam. Re-installed exhaust cam for 1-3. All index marks/cast marks align. When I bring #1 up to compression cycle/finger on plug hole, the cam marks are upside down. And lobes for #1 are upright. Is this correct for valve adjustment or am I missing something? I cant be 180 out as all factory marks are aligned. My understanding is the lobes are opposite each other on 1-3 sides when at TDC. Any advice would help keep me from going CRAZY! Thanks in advance Guru's. Please help.:mad:

    Anyone want to help? 1st timer needs it. I don't want to burn this engine up/push a valve(s) through piston.

    Could I possibly have installed cam at #3 TDC? 14 Lookie Loos, No response.

    so you say when you bring up on compression for #1 the lobes for that cyc are facinging up, will be normal, next to open will be exhust valves but make sure you are on compression for #1

    Okay, I installed the cam with all cast marks/sprocket lines aligned @ T 1-3. When I turn alternator 360deg. to T1-3 I am at compression stroke and lobes on #1 face up and cast marks on cams face down. Is this correct and is this where I commence valve lash adjustment?

    if both intake and exhust are straight up on compression then no. anyone have spec on cam lobes for me, I need degrees on cam lobes

    According to dave dodge, the cam lobes face away from each other @ TDC. Mine are face up. Am I at #3 TDC? This is a friends bike and I don't want to F this up. Anyone know the right configuration? I followed the FAC manual. But hey, I'm falllable. Just human curiosity. Help if u know what's up.
