I have an 86 vfr 700 and I have heard of people swapping newer engines into these bikes. Does anyone know which models and years engines will fit the 86 vfr 700? If so is this a clean swap or is it lots of hacking?
well seeing as how no one has replied yet; a 750 of the same vintage will drop right in, but the 700 has more HP than the 750 for 86/87. A 90 & up 750 will also work but requires some inginuity, I beleive to block/cylinder deck height is taller. Like anything else, anythings possible its just a matter of how much time & money you have to spend on it. Or how many friends that owe you favors that know how to use & have access to welders, lathes, milling machings, cutting torches, CNC's etc etc etc.
