Are there any plans to start a sub-forum for the "new" 8th generation VFR?

"6th Gen with Traction Control" has a nice ring to it.

I fully agree with Tink on this - the updated 2014 onwards 800's are more correctly the true 7th Gen VFR.

I have always looked on the 1200's and Cross Runner /Cross Tourer as VFR relatives which each fully deserve their own sub-forum rather than being bundled in with the rest.

I have no idea how the VFRWorld Forum Management works to consider things like this, but I rather think it will be better for everyone the sooner VFRWorld just goes ahead and makes a decision on how to define these various models and then as necessary adjusts the subForum headings /content accordingly.

It always seemed odd that the 1200 was seen as some sort of evolution of the previous 750/800 bikes rather than what it really was - a totally different Honda V4 bike but definitely one aimed at the same "VFR (sport Touring)" owners/market.

Personally I think owning a 1st gen VFR 1200 sounds, a lot better than simply owning a 7th gen VFR.

    Just my 2p

Regardless of generation, it would be nice if the site started a sub-forum for the 2014 VFR800. It's now on sale in Europe, at least. It would be great to have a forum where new owners can post their experiences.

While the 2014 shares the engine/tranny/frame in common with the 6th generation, there's enough new to warrant calling it the 8th gen. It would be confusing having people talking about the 2014 in the current 6th gen forum.

I'm all for calling the 2014 800s 7th gens. The other side of the fence seems to be stuck on 8th gen. :sour:

Problem with skipping to the 2014 to be the 7th gen, is we are skipping the 1200, which I agree is a different animal, but it is still a Honda VFR. Think we need to consider the 2014 an 8th Gen otherwise all the 1200 VFR owners will float around out there like bastard kids thinking no one loves them anymore.

Okay I setup the new forum. Could use help on one thing - are you guys aware of any existing threads specifically for the new 2014 VFR800? I want to move those to the new forum so that it's not empty. I looked around but couldn't find them quickly.
