98 vfr 800,I have an r1 rectifier,I found pictures on how to wire it up...but ,can i also run an additional wire from r1 rectifier positive and negative location directly to battery with a fuse on positive? I found a thread somewhere on google where a person did this and also said that it would stabilize the charging. Is this possible?:help::deadhorse:

It's not so much that it stabilizes the charging; it would eliminate any problems caused by voltage drops across mechanical connections. The internal voltage regulator built into the R/R would directly sense the battery voltage and it would also directly charge the battery, as opposed to sensing/charging through one or more connections that could possibly be suspect.

Typically, in any electrical power distribution system, the less physical connections there are, the more reliable the system will be. So I guess the best reply is "yes".
