Hello, I've had my 06 VFR for a few weeks now and I just added some T-Rex frame sliders to it. I bought them in prep for some new fairings I've got shipping over atm, and because of my godawful luck, I managed to tip over my bike on some gravel last week. Nothing damaged, but the old fairings (I bought them pretty scratched up on the bike already) are now definitely going to have to go. I originally was going to wait on the sliders until the new ones came in, but I figured I should throw them on ASAP just to protect some of my dignity.

    1. The manual that came with specified torquing the bolts to specific tolerances, but I couldn't find any spec in the manual for the two engine bolts on each side that go onto the frame. The bolts they also provided me are Allen head bolts, so I cant socket my torque wrench on them to begin with without finding some new attachments. I've got them snug as the old ones were now, though from hand/wrench.

    2. While installing the sliders, I noticed a weird knob on the right side of my bike, right above the crankcase. I didn't mess with it because I'm not sure where it's connected, but I was curious what it could be. I'm pretty sure I have the non-ABS model.

    3. Shortly after buying the bike, I did some research and realized that it does not have a center stand. How difficult are they to track down/install, and how much of an investment are they? I've already changed my rear tire for a new one with some clever jack placement, so I'm not super worried, but my last bike had one so I was spoiled lol.

    2. Most likley idle speed adjust knob. Do you have the Owners Manual or Service Manual?
    3. Why is the Center Stand missing? Absolutely magic to have, all 6gens came with one as far as I know.

Yep! was the idle adjuster, I've got both downloaded but theyre scans so they're a pain to navigate. This is my first bike newer than 1985 so I'm still getting used to the more recent amenities.

The bike's been through three or four different owners before me, and the guy I bought it from said the last owner did a ton of work on it before dropping it and selling it. Not sure what else they changed, but the exhausts were originally gutted and the plate bracket was nonexistent (I put it back on ofc).

You should be able to get aa hex key socket to fit your torque wrench from just about any decent auto parts/tool store. I have a whole set of those for different sizes, both metric and imperial.
