    After fiddling with mounting a NOS muffler on the VFR. I puller the header tube to discover this lovely color!

    And it was running fine ?? Only time i saw that coloring was with high-$$ race fuel.


    AW !! Ya fooled me for a sec, but i see a paint can there, fella. :nelson:

    Actually, that is a can of chain lube. I ran some race gas in it the other day....but a VERY small amount...maybe 20% (3/4 gal) to a tank of fuel. I'm hoping that's it too......

    I have too, but at a ratio of MAYBE 20%? Seems there is more to it..... I'll pull the plugs again in a few months with NO race gas and see. (I was syncing the carbs after a valve adjust and all I had was 112 oct race gas in the garage, but I poured that quart worth into a full tank when I put it all back together). As you can see the exhaust gasket was leaking slightly too. In fact, 3 of 4 header pipes were loose..... NG
