Air hose to no where?

    Hey guys,

    Just pulled my tank to deal with a leaking carb and found this. This is from the previous owner so Im not sure whats going on.

    Where should this be connected to? Looks like the part is missing.

    This diagram is from the service manual for the RC36, not sure if it is any help to you. Given you are in CA, my guess is that the hose is intended to connect the carb air vents to a charcoal cannister that has been removed, but that it is just a guess.

    Carb vent hose from a de-Cali bike. As long as it's pointing somewhat down you're fine. That is assuming they did everything else right when they took the Cal stuff off. And if it is running good, they probably did.
