Getting closer, but there's some issues here that don't immediately jump out... something's up with this bike.

That upper cowl Blue does not natch the tank. Too many angles for it to be lighting.
It's a crash repair at some point, there's a nice ding in the tank on the upper edge that is rusting.
Maybe even the rear cowl has been repainted too. The bodywork is just TOO nice for the rest of the bike.
Somebody (crapily) painted the upper triple clamp at some point.
Good luck finding a fuse cover. You can, you need luck.
Turn signals are missing, but not before gouging the front forks like they usually do.
Mesh side covers missing. There's some coin for ones that will still be cracked or missing tabs.
Has sat in the weather for extended periods, black plastic inner panels are all faded, like the controls.
All hardware that is facing up is corroded, like the gas cap.
    Missing hardware everywhere.

This thing was put back together after being crashed and let sitting out next to the garage.
    Lots of red flags.

little corrosion on the fasteners, seat fade-ish, and the blue up front stood out to me, but I don't know nuttin about these bikes. Anything missing, like that fuse and side panel must a be a bitch to find.
Looks good from a far and far from good for peeps like Capt. :)

Would the value be appropriate for what he is asking given the rest of the bike was good?
Not tempted to buy it (F2 took my play money), but just wondering the state of the world.

Is that black instead of blue? that is some really dark stuff.

The state of the world is insanity. This is $2000 dollar bike not too long ago.

They have gone up and down A LOT in the almost 30 years I've been fucking around with them.

In 1992 I paid $4000 for a near perfect, stock 1986 with 4500 miles, shipped out of Ohio from the original owner.

1000Rs have become impossible for me to gauge right now. I don't know if my 86 (9K miles) is worth $7000 or $25,000. That turd, crashed 86 went for 15K out of Iconic.

I would say 2k is reasonable but I would have to need parts if I were to but it. It’s about 45 minutes from my garage door.

Anyone have any stock R mufflers they want to sell? I take donations as well.

    :)

I am stoked with my purchase. It actually changed my outlook on what I want to keep and where to go from here on my mini collection, that I am not sure I can afford..lol

    22k C$.. like $5 USD? ;)
