Is there anyway of finding out what year certain parts are from?

I've found a guy pretty much done the street has has a CRAP load of engine parts but I am unsure what year they are from?

Are there any way to find out by looking at the Heads or the cams?

Looking at the pictures that he sent everything is 84-85.

Give away things to look for are the number of bolt holes on the cam holders (86 has four, 84-85 has three), radiator metal down tube to the pump, etc.

Yea....the schematic shows the 4 bolt holes (square looking) cam holder caps for the 86

The 84-85 seem to have more L shaped ones.

So will the head have 4 obvious bolt holes around where the cam holder caps go?

Do the Cams have any markings or identifiers?

Yes on the heads. It will be obvious. Not sure on the cams without looking at the ones I have kicking around at home.

Any pictures...I am unsure what this metal tube looks like

If you have time to look at an 86 cam I'd appreciate any help you can spare.
