I’ve been looking for about a year for a good condition 3rd Gen 8 spoke rear wheel. Some have come up but I’m never the first one to the sale. There’s a few in the UK but with shipping they’d be around $350 and from what I can tell they go for about $300 in the US at the top end. If anyone has a lead on one please let me know!

I found and purchased a white 8 spoke off of a 92’. It wasn’t cheap but I finally got it!! Off to powder coat along with the front to match and my bike is very close to finished. I found a really nice rear blinker stop light assembly off of an 07’ with the clear blinkers for my 04’ too!! Projects are fun!

It varies a bit. The cheapest place that I know does good work near me is $350. Which I thought was high considering the same place does 4 17” car wheels for $400, I assumed it would be $200 - $100 per wheel/rim but the guy said when he quoted me that ecause he has to do both “faces” of each motorcycle rim it’s more expensive. Maybe he was full of it but the 4 other places charged even more than the $350 he quoted me. All that said my original wheels were the stock silver/gun metal and I wasn’t 100% sure I wanted white rims so I plastidiped them. They turned out fantastic and held up perfect for the 1 season I’ve used them. However they are SO hard to keep clean and just to clean them I have to use a special mixture of Simple Green and it takes Forever! Brake dust sticks to plastiDip something fierce even though I “clear coated” with special plastiDip glossifier because I read it was not as sticky to break dust (it’s still bad). So since I really like the white and now I have the 8-spoke I’m going to spend the $$ and get them powder coated. It’ll last forever and much easier but not easy to clean. - 1st pic is after plastiDip before glossifier. It had a sort of matt look that I though was cool and I regret using the glossifier. 2nd is after it was completed. Notice the bolt holes and surrounds are the old color. When I put the wrench in to tighten the lug nuts it’s a very tight fit and it grabbed the plastiDip and started to pull it all off. Horrified 2 days work was headed down the drain I quickly stopped and removed the plastiDip from the holes. Other than that amazingly it’s held up really well even through new tire replacement on both wheels.
