Attach a Givi tank lock to the rear seat cowl

I recently purchased a Givi "tank-lock" tank bag. I really like it, but it seriously hampers ones ability to tuck behind the windscreen. It would be nice to have the choice to put in on the tank, or on the rear seat, behind me. So I am thinking about ordering a cowl and mounting a second tank-lock ring directly too it. I bought my bike used and it did not come with the rear seat cowl. Can someone tell me how the Cowl attaches to the seat and how secure it is?? Anyone else try attaching a tank-lock ring to one??
