So I've just received word that my brand new 2015 VFR will be delivered to me on either Friday or Saturday.

I'm not real sure what exactly will come with it - nor was the dealer last time I asked. I know what standard things are fitted (ABS, T/C etc) - I believe the centre stand is part of that, along with the manual and small toolkit. What else should I be expecting though? Do the Australian models come with the rear seat cowl? Any other bits and bobs I should be receiving with it that I should keep an eye out for?

    Thanks!

As far as I know they all come with rear seat and grab handles plus the bits to replace them, seat cowl, blanking plates for handles, etc. Mine came with those parts all packaged together in a standard Honda spare parts box. I think that's all, every thing else will be an 'official accessory'.

Correct. Rear seat, rear cowl (cannot be used at the same time as rear seat, unlike early VFRs), pillion grab-handles, blanking panels, all bolts and fittings. All Aus models are what the US call the "DLX" version, meaning you get the centre-stand, ABS, heated-grips, etc.

We have two options in Australia - black and red. Went with the victory red option.

Patience grasshoper... haven't got the bike yet!!! Pick up likely on Saturday. Pics will be up after I've picked it up, and probably ridden it for many hours ;)

It's alright, I can't blame you. I'm struggling to wait it out too... hardly slept in a week I'm that excited!

That's why you start pre-emptively buying accessories for it. I suggest a pipe that speaks to you, screen is a good option (check the Powerbronze options), and of course a tail-tidy! Not that I have any particular interest in those of course... <cough> <cough>

Hey the powerbronze screens look to be quite good - are you running one?
And tell me more about these tail-tidies.... ;)

I've had Powerbronze screens on my last 3 VFRs (5th, 6th, & 8th Gen), and they've been great stuff, good quality and deflect just the right amount of wind off you (Airflow "double-bubble" screens obviously). There's a Powerbronze retailer that covers Australia located in Frankston, Vic, but he ships nationwide.

Regarding the tail-tidies, there's a whole thread dedicated to them here. Basically I got tired of waiting for the usual brands to make one for the 2014+ model, so I measured, designed, and fabricated some test articles myself, then organised a production run for Forum members. There's still 10 or so left, so grab one while you can.

One thing I recall from the test rides is that the wind seemed to hit me on the head and buffet my helmet a bit. Now I'm coming from a naked bike, but I HATE wind noise (and always wear earplugs anyway). What sort of difference should the double-bubble screen make? Not having owned a bike with a screen before I'm a bit green on that concept...

It might make a big difference, the effect of screens is as individual as helmets and what suits one person won't work for another. Every one of us is a slightly different combination of dimensions so it all depends where your head sits in the airflow and at what angle. It varies with the bike too, I had a Fabbri double-bubble on my 5th gen which was a great improvement over standard but on my 6th gen the standard screen was quieter than the MRA that was on when I bought it so I switched back. For me on the 8th gen the standard screen (with earplugs which I always wear too) is plenty quiet enough. It will also vary with what helmet you have.

Not a great deal of help, I know, if you think it's bad enough to do something about it you'll just have to try one and see!

Fair enough! Thanks for the insight - I collect the bike this morning so I'll start to get a feel for it soon!
