Austin Moto GP Trip with Pics and UMBRELLA GIRLZ

Sorry I have been slacking in this late posting..... Work has kept me busy as hell and I haven’t had the time till now to post. Plus this post will cover a whole plethora of things so I wasn’t sure where to post it. It could have gone under Racing, Trips, and Umbrella girls or in general discussion... So here we are, now let me get to waxing poetic.

DAY 1 18 Apr
My friend (from here on out he will be referred as squirrel. Why? Because that’s how he rides.) and I decided months ago to go to the Austin Moto GP. Needless to say I have been stoked about this trip. He left his house at 4am in Louisiana. He gets to my house at 8 am and I have already been awake since 6. Why is this important??? Well when he arrives at my place I didn’t hear him pull up in the driveway but when he did he was honking furiously. I thought he was being a smartass and a jack hole for honking that early in the morning. When I walk outside to tell him to knock it off I’m staring at the bottom of his VSTROM along with the bottom of his boots. Come to find out he had lifted his bike 2 days before and he couldn’t really touch the ground (he's 5'7"). He also got a speeding ticket on his way to TX.

About an hour into our journey the sky opens up on us and the temperature plummets from a nice 74 degrees to 48 degrees. This happened in a 5 min time span. So we stop to get out of the rain and put on some warmer gear.



If you do not have heated gear...I strongly recommend it. We stopped 3 times on our 2 hour trip so Squirrel could warm up.

We get to Austin and meet up with a good friend of mine who is putting us up at his house and he takes us to down town.


Yes drinking was involved


Austins motto is "Keep Austin Weird"

DAY 2 Apr 19

Squirrel and I start off the day with some breakfast tacos then decide to hit some roads around Austin before we go the the track. We go up to Lake Travis and ride the road that goes around the Lake. A very nice, sceneic and twisty ride.



This place is called the Oasis. Its a restaurant that has one of the best veiws of Lake Travis....To bad the food sucks.

Yeah, nice to know some things are a constant in the universe. The food at the Oasis does just suck. Hell, they even screw up a margarita. But, the view is to die for. There is a killer view from the north end of Lime Creek Road, near the radio tower antenna. Worth trying to find it on a beautiful day.

Ahhh yes the Umbrella girls.... busy with work right now but I can post at least one...
