I'm on business trip in New Jersey. I rode my 6th gen here from San Antonio, Texas almost two weeks ago. It was a beautiful ride, uneventful. Since time was tight, I didn't have time to replace the chain and sprockets before I left and I'd really like to do it before I head back in 6 weeks. Problem is I don't have the necessary tools with me. I guess I could hit the Sears and buy what I need but then I'll be duplicating tools I already have (at home).

What is a ballpark price, including parts, that a shop will charge?

If it's too high, I would rather just buy the tools, I guess. Does it require many different tools?

    Thanks for the help. Rich

With six weeks to go before you head back, order the parts online and have them sent to wherever you are staying or working. Bottom of the bottom line for shop space and tools? A high school auto shop.

Download the manual for how to.
