Manchester Honda, CT. Service Dept was bad, beware. I just paid them over "$1,000.00" for the purchase of 2 mich tires plus mounting, etc. plus I figured since they were going to change tires, they might as well mount the new chain and sprocket kit that I purchased seperatly. (not included in the $1,000.00)
For that much money they should have at least cleaned the wheels and tires up after mounting, nope, grease everwere. Plus the chain was way to tight.

Then the big supprise when I left: pulsing rotors, ahh yes, a warped rotor later determined, and a nick right were the deflection was, as measured with a dial indicator.
When I asked why so much money (before I discovered the real botch job) the mgr said that it was really difficult to do the chain and sprockets, they had to re-cut the chain, wow, that must hve been the extra $500.00. Ok then!
Buyer beware, Manchester Honda Service Dept.
Now, does anyone have a good supplier of new rotors?

Light em up on craigslist.com in the motorcycle, and rants and raves sections. Nothing hurts a business more than bad reps and negative word-of-mouth. If someone they know or an employee sees that, they will know to stop dicking people around.

Also, another argument for doing work yourself! I thought about having my hydraulic fluids(clutch and brake) changed out by a shop because I was a little scared about doing it myself. I did it no problem and saved $140 too.
Tires? Just order some online, take off the wheels yourself, and have a shop mount and balance them. Chain and sprocket? Buy a chain braking tool for $30 and do it yourself.

Do they not give estimates in CT ... do they not have shop rates for specific jobs??? This sounds like a real scr...w job. I'd report them to the better business bureau at the very least! Sproket and chain hard???? did they not go to school to learn how to use a wrench??? Man, you have my empathy and when in CT I won't be doing business with Manchester!! YIKES

If this was a Honda Dealer, call Honda customer service. The last thing Honda wants is a rogue dealer screwing their customers. They should make the dealer replace the parts they damaged and correct those insane charges.
This dealer doesn't want to piss Honda off, and risk losing his contract with Honda.:pout:

I feel your pain, man! There's nothing like an incompetent/crooked dealer to piss you off. Makes you never want anyone to touch your bike again.

Did you get an itemized list of parts and labor charges? That would be your ammunition when you call Honda (yes - call them right away). They must have guidelines for labor needed for particular tasks. The dealer's charges border on criminal. And obviously their quality of care and customer service are way lacking.
What are we talking about here:
Let's say $400 (+ tax) for new tires installed on the bike (you could save maybe $50 next time by bringing in the wheels off the bike, if you want).
You said that the chain and sprockets weren't included in the $1000 - so they charged almost $600 for labor???? It's a maximum 2 hour job for someone who has *never* done one. If you have a Dremel and chain tool, and have a clue about what you're doing, the old chain is off and the new one cut to length in 10 minutes tops.

No No....he said they "made" the chain and sprocket....

Dude call the Better Business Bureau.....and call some other dearlers to get a ball park figure. Ofcourse call this ripoff back and get an itemized bill for work performed.... Not to get you goin' or anything, but my chain was 150$ installed....and I though that was high!! Damn when you said a "G" I thought maybe you had the valves adjusted, couple tires, brakes, oil change and a new helmet to boot!! LOL

Yo - this is a motivation to do some of the work on your bike yourself. Definately take the suggestions made to post a rant on Craigslist, notify Honda and the BBB. The other thing to consider is if you have people you like to ride with then help each other with your bikes. I am friendly with some of the clubs in my area. I have gotten so fed up with waiting for lousy overpriced motorcycle service that I had got a new set of tools have started helping other so I can get help when I need it. Now the only real challenge you will have to face is part availability from Honda.

Man, did they at least use Vasoline? Had to make the chain and sprocket! I've heard it all now... and they wonder why people commit hate crimes.

My local dealer wanted $350 in labor to mount a front tire and change the chain a sprocket. I went the DIY route instead.
