Notice to the unaware. A common practice of scammers on forums is to monitor "WTB" (want to buy) posts or sections of the classifieds. The scammers know what you are looking for. When asked they will provide pictures from the web showing their fictitious item or items. Often the asking price witll be attractive. Red flags; -The scammer is a new member to the forum with no history. -They ask you to pay using a email without their name contained in the address or use someone elses name. -They make the transaction more convoluted than need be with side stories. Protection; -Never use the Paypal "friends and family" function as you will have no recourse when you realize you have been had. The Scammer will try to convince you to use this function as you will save a small tax fee. If you use the regular function you will be covered for a refund but nothing is writen in stone. -Reverse search any pictures provided as the scammer could have just pulled them off the web. -Question, question, question everything.
