    Tried searching....

Has any tried to mount a different model or year onto your bike?

    Say take a 87 VFR700 mount 94 VFR400 body and tail

Tyga makes a great looking kit. I know bracket etc

Hey swing arm wouldn't be bad either

Just asking as my bike is going to be a build soon as I swap wheels to F2's

    Thanks

    That looks great!
Ok now we have a starting point for me. Game on! What front stays did you use? home fabbed? other OEM...

Still wonder on the rear RC30 RVF45 to easy. Thinking more the Tyga or 98 Honda RS250 race tail use a VFR400 seat

Fabricated all the stays and mounts. Here's an early version where I was running some mirrors close the the stock location
    [IMG]
Then later finished the upper cowl mounts with the instrument stay I was planning to use.

I toyed with the idea of running a RS tail similar to this

But when I scored the Cobalt Racing tail at a stupid price I decided I'd had enough fab on this bike and the idea of a real seat sounded good.

I got kinda lucky on the 900RR bodywork, that bike is pretty short. The lowers weren't even part of the original plan cuz I didn't think they would ever fit, but when I was done done with the upper and mids, I thought what the hell and bought some. After some trimming and shaping, they integrated pretty fucking good.

Nice I could tell in the pics you trimmed it. Cool

My mounting ideas from my RS and most GP bikes I've raced. Easy install, inexpensive and looks cool

First three pics are the upper by the screen and side. Drill and tap the frame and fab the stay out of aluminum and the fittings are standard RS125/250/500 body mounts. Second is the tail section. Simple aluminum built to fit the tail I want and all the under tail stuff. It's gonna loose some weight. Cheaper than buying another that's not designed for it and having to hack it up

    Whatcha think?

I am familair with the RS mounts from working on and riding a couple. My concern would be for street use. The fairings you use, even in glass, would likely be heavier than tiny RS units. And the street is a far more harsh environment than the track.

But you seem pretty handy, so I'm sure you have good ideas to compensate if needed.

Yea plan a little tougher mounting and I don't plan on hanging the lights in the nose. It'll be on the gauges. My buddy built stays for GP Tech. Not hard

Tyga has the CF upper & tail.

Sounds you like you got it handled then. Drill/tap cast areas?
