I’ve got the CCT tapping going on, I’m planning on replacing them in a couple of months once the bad weather is really happening.

Are there any real dangers of riding whilst these are tapping away?

    30,000 miles.

I’m going to be replacing brake pads, discs and lines as well, was thinking of just doing it all at the same time.

Don’t want a catastrophic failure though!

Get the OEM versions (about $50 each - you need 2) then forget about it for another 30,000 +.

I’ll do that, will be ordering up some other bits and pieces anyway. The weather is getting decidedly wet and cold now anyway, perhaps I should just bit the bullet and do it all now.

Replaced them both this evening, took me just over an hour, pretty much an hour to do the fiddly front one and less than ten minutes for the rear!

Location of the front cct, I loosened the air box but didn’t need to remove it.

Disconnect the various cables and zip tie back, a long extension will get you there.

Bit fiddly to remove, has to be pulled gently in a straight line so as not to leave the cap in the engine.

Rear is a doddle, remove the rear brake lever bracket and heat shield. ( I was replacing the heat shield anyway) Really easy to access, old out and new in within minutes.
