can you change the rear shock oil on 84 vf500f

    I have an 84 vf500f and was wondering if it was possible to change the oil in the rear shock as it is 32 years old.
    I don't want to dish out a lot of money for a replacement unit if it is even possible to source one.
    One post mentioned north of $400.

    I just downloaded the service manual from here: http://db.tt/9uk4iB3G

    Page 13-13 refers to refilling the shock with ATF so the answer has to be yes.
