I finally found a pair of boots that fit properly. I got a pair of AlpineStars GoreTex riding boots. When I got on the bike to ride I found out that the boots are too thick in the toe to fit so I can shift gears. Anyone know of a part or modification that I can do to widen the gap between the footpeg and the shift lever?

    Yeah it is easy.
the shaft on the shifter is splined. remove pinch bolt on shift lever and adjust gap by pulling lever off and rotating shift lever up enough to get the clearance that you are comfortable with

Just adjust the shift lever so that it's wide enough to get the new boot under... it's a simple proceedure.
