You're missing the labor. The part itself is fairly priced - it's the dealer labor charge that will quickly escalate the price. Or you can try to tackle it yourself - here's a link to the 9 pages of installation instructions (unfortunately you have to drop the exhaust):

Thanks for that. I'll put this on my to do list. I have everything I need in my shop. I'm also weird about others working on my vehicle's, unless it's a warranty issue.

Gator is correct. I do not have a shop or a garage big enough to put a lift in it or I would. I payed the shop (Honda-Suzuki of Salt Lake) to put it on and they quoted me the wrong price, but went ahead to do if for 1 shop hour or $80. I think that they told me the shop manual did not put removing the exhaust to get it done. I think they came back with 2hrs to 2-1/2 hours bringing it up to at least $160 to install. All said I paid $140 for it on the bike. Cheaper than putting pegs on the bike and a roll away stand to do oil changes with these at $185-200 and I do not need to store a stand in a single car garage. Its tight enough with the bike, car, tool box and garbage cans for me!;-) Sucks that it adds weight to the bike at 12lbs as I remember but convenient on the road and in the space I have.

LOL! I have 3 bikes, 1 car, a tire changer, a tool box, and an ABBA stand (currently with bike mounted to it), not to mention 3 Pitbull stands and a tire rack, all inside my single car garage! The latter being wall mounted and not counting a plethora of Moto parts and other bits and pieces stored on the shelves. Although I get where you're coming from but to say there is no room might be just the way you're looking at it.

Yes indeed, I forgot to mention the washer and dryer behind the car! And the hoa will not let me pull the car out to do work on the bike due to only having a visitor space available for only 2hrs. So long term work must be done in the garage within that time frame.

You probably remember me saying that on the garage thread over at VFRD, not an easy task but a necessary one!

OOTV, I don't remember anything other than the post you made in response that made it sound like I was a copout. I thought that you where badbilly for a while, but really for functionality and the HOA issues. Please let me see how and when you make your claim possible. I and others are waiting for Pics!

Yes Indeed since I live in a great condo area, But the residents are getting cynical! Old folks are great for crime, but they bitch and moan a lot about the by-laws of the community. ;-)

Love this! Thanks Billy! We think alike. But I am much more conservative and polite than you are.

Here are a few shots I got. The size of the garage is about the same 11x18 (+/-) a foot or two on the length (I didn't have my 25' tape measure so had to add up measurements with reference points). As far as HOA, yeah we have one here too but most of the people here are cool. Many park their cars in the guest spots almost all day without any hassles. I will sometimes leave my car out accidentally and usually no consequences, other than a written warning left on the windshield. Technically the guest spots are ONLY for guest but if the patrol company doesn't know what car is a guest, all they can do is write you up if you park more than two nights without getting your license plate number on a extended stay list. The bike in the back is my 01 which is undergoing surgery at the moment and is the one on the ABBA stand.
