    Hi All!
Firstly, I'd like to day hello and introduce myself: I just joined and have had my '02 VFR since June of 2015. Get it with about 5,500 miles and it is up to almost 12,000. I admit that I have just been riding it, keeping it clean and lubed and nothing has really gone awry. I love the this motorcycle and it is quite nice to ride. I've come across a lot of information on the charging system and harness issues, etc...I'll admit I'm a bit overwhelmed, but I need to hunker down and really start paying attention: I'd like to avoid getting stuck on the side of the road.

Last week, Friday, I noticed the idle on the bike drop down a bit lower than usual. Since I've had it it has always been the same...somewhere about 1200-1300 RPMs in all outside temperature ranges between 45 degrees (F) and 100 degrees (F), but on Friday it was idling, when stopped of course, at 1000-1100, it was about 100 degrees (F) and VERY hot! I was always looking to see if it was going to stall when I put it in neutral. I got home fine, but the throttle seems to be a little more punchy...maybe that's my mind playing.

When I got home I looked at all of the electrical connections under the seat and it all seemed fine. About 3 weeks ago I went through about 4 or 6 electrical connections under the left side fairing and pulled them apart, put some di-electric grease in there, and put them back together after visually inspecting: they all looked clean.

This morning, I measures the voltage across the battery terminals and I got 12.2, on start up it dropped to about 11.7 or so, and then as it was idling, within about 5 seconds it went up to 13.8. Raised RPM's to 5,000 and it went to 13.95.

    Do I need a new R/R?

Attached is a picture of my VFR. Isn't she pretty!?!?
