    Hey guys,
Has this thing got what I need to check my electricals?

    7 Function Digital Multimeter

I've never had or used one of these things before, and I love the price:smile:

    Thanks!

    Sear Anallog Meter

That's all I've used for the past 25 years. Don't know how they are made now. I'm no pro, but it gets my work done.

Buy 2 cause I broke mine after a few months. The one I got a radio shack was smaller and lasted longer

Inexpensive meters usually work well for a while. The big killer is the terribly cheap mechanical switch connections that are used inside (connected to the rotary selector switch on the outside). Once they start getting flaky, the meter becomes wonderfully unreliable and inaccurate. The probes are usually kind of dicey, too. But they are a lot better than nothing.

If you store it in a zip-lock baggie to keep the moisture & dust out, it might last for years. Oh, and don't use the battery that comes with it for too long. They tend to be really cheap and "leaky".
