Hi from Dave in Hastings UK. All togged up and ready to go but would not re-start. Clicking solenoid removed for replacement tomorrow as battery fully charged and connections sound (11.75v) Does this sound familiar and am I doing the right thing? New to biking having got training and licence 2 years ago aged 56. Bright yellow dream machine now(VFR800Fi - 2000) as first red VFR was completely invisible in daylight with lights on... not that I'm bitter...grrrr. Have a fabulous summer of whizzing, but not too larey, then you can have another one next year. :)

    Dave,

The battery should register over 12v so it appears to be low. It may well be enough to make the solenoid "click" but not enough juice to engage the starter.

    regards

Phil is correct. A 12V battery should register closer to 13.5 volts when fully charged. I would replace the battery first.
