I have consulted four different manuals on this and the best I was able to find was tighten securely, in a Clymers manual. What I can say from experience is that they are not a strong bolt , almost fragile. I have removed many broken bolts due to air tools and over tightening. Just past snug is the best I can offer. Sorry. Never had one come loose if that helps.

Hello Toe cutter, I know this is an old thread, but you said you have removed many broken bolts, this just happened to me, broke a clutch spring bolt. What was the best way, that worked for you to remove it? I was planning on using left handed drill bit.

They tend to be loose after the head is snapped off. A left handed bit should get it done nicely or some patience and a seal pick can usually get them oot.

Thanks TC! I will patiently use the left handed drill bit... These are also hard to find, none of my dealerships around my area have them. Had to order them from Honda. I wonder if any other bolts would work?

I haven't come across one that I wasn't able to turn out with a dental pick or something similar. They are bathed in oil and not bottomed out against anything. Try it before introducing drill bits.

I think the torque is something like 4-7 ft/lbs. Light.
Just snug is best like TC said. They are literally spring loaded as well when installed, so they aren't going anywhere.
