Coolant in oil

    My '82 VF750S it leaking coolant into the oil. Any ideas where the leak may be? Head gasket? waterpump?:Cry: :sick:

    It's gotta be the headgasket. I just today posted to a "Coolant" thread concerning testing the compression.

    Ouch! Coolant in the oil is never good. You're not running it that way are you? If so you will damage engine bearings as coolant is a poor lubricant. Besides the head gasket, Be sure and check for excessive warpage of the cylinder heads and mating block surface if you verify a blown gasket.

    Yep gotta be the head gasket, you should get it fixed pretty quick also b/c if it sits that way for long your gonna need rings also, they'll rust.

    It has not been ran since the oil got wet. I drained most of the coolant changed the oil 3 times and ran it about 1 minute between changes. A good squirt of WD-40 in the plug holes rounded out the prep until I have the time and motivation to tackle the job. To pull both those heads looks like quite the job.
