If anyone wants to know what these sound like this is it: (Watch in HD)

I had installed this about 5 months ago and never got a good recording of the sound until now.

As far as the quality... top knotch. Can't say enough about the build. My one complaint is that the stainless will yellow due to the heat, but I suppose that's just the nature of the beast. This went together FAR easier than many other exhausts I've tried for my different bikes over the years.

Straight forward, everything fit, and I didn't need to fiddle with anything. Looks great, sounds great... I just wish they were mounted SIDEWAYS to fill the hole under the rear cowl better... Guess beggers can't be choosers :).

Any chance you could post up a few good pictures of them mounted up? Would be nice to see them from a few different angles.

Wow, I just looked on their site and did not realize how inexpensive that set of pipes is. The aluminum cans were only $320. How do you like them overall?

Are they really loud without the baffles? I would probably have to run the baffles in for where I live but I don't need the bike to be really loud anyway. Just would like to get a nice tone out of it, maybe a little deeper tone would be nice.

    So that is NO baffles.

It's deafening if you're standing 1-15 feet behind it and give it a good braaaaap.

With the baffles in they are GORGEOUS sounding... still throaty, still bassy, but you don't get that splitting howl in the top end.

    I'll take some pics soon.

For the price, you honestly can't beat them. These are the stainless set, which was $350 through their ebay store.

My Delkevic system showed up today. I got the 8 inch polished mini's but with the larger slant cut outlets. The overall construction and design seems very good. I like the large diameter piping used throughout. I have no intentions of using the baffles but we'll see how it goes. It can't be any louder than my Kawasaki KFX 700 with a 2 into 1 Jardine exhaust and the spark arrester removed. There are a handful of good quality youtube video's taken from the rear vantage point of the bike with the Delkevic systems with and without baffles and they sound beastly. Hopefully I get mine installed this weekend.

Do yourselves a favor, if you're going to buy them. Buy from http://www.delkevic.us/ It's cheaper there than e-bay. Saved me some $$, anyway...

I bought mine from Delkevic's site thinking I was going to save a little. By the time shipping was added it was $445, a whole 5 bucks cheaper then what you can get the same thing for on ebay. Not real significant but 5 bucks is 5 bucks.

So I have been considering the Delkevic header for my 6th gen, mainly for the look, I like the shiny stainless:smug: I would still use my Two Bros looks like two but really only one muffler set up (what can I say, I like it) I'm wondering if anyone can tell me if the catless stainless header changes the sound much.
    Thanks
    John

Just getting the header will net you some more bass and some more Db. It'll also save you some weight and add a bit of power that you probably won't feel. You'll also need to use the O2 blocks that come with a Power Commander or Radio Shack 330ohm resistors for the O2 sensors on your bike. Going this route means getting a Power Commander III/V, not an option not to. Most people (me included) use Tinymind's map from VFRD.

Thanks for chiming in Akuma, I have a PCV already with O2 block offs with the map they provided. Wasn't expecting much in the way of performance except maybe a little throttle response, just a little more cool looks wise and maybe something different in exhaust note. I guess the exhaust sound would be just for me as most motorcycle folks find the V4 exhaust very charismatic no matter what brand exhaust system is on it. I know on mussel cars that have full stainless exhaust systems the sound is a little more raspy? Pitchy? Not sure what to call it but not quite as low tone. Anyway all good, so you think a few more decibels with just the header change?

    Akuma =/= Akumu :beguiled:

Yea, I would say they're worth a few more Db because of the loss of the Cat and the fact that these are actually 98-01 pipes that fit great on the Gen 6. Being 98-01 pipes they're have a tad more circumference, which should lead to more bass, too. As I say, though, you will probably have to remap just from clearing up that stifling Cat out of your system. Try it w/o the remap, then try switch over to Tiny's and see what you like best. (Or have it tuned and run that.)

    Akuma is Japanese for 'demon'

    Akumu is Japanese for 'nightmare'

I'm surprised to see your helmet doesn't have horns.

Thanks for the pictures. We went on a charity ride today and after spending the day riding with other bikes that you can hear, I now feel the need to do something with mine! Half the time, I could not even hear my bike running.

Since I like the way the stock exhaust looks, I think I am going to try the old hole saw method on mine first. See how it sounds if I am still not happy, then spend a few bucks on a set of these. It seems kind of hard to beat for the money. Especially since all I am really after is just a nicer tone from the bike. Not loud as hell, but just a cool enjoyable tone.
