So I'm a noob here but am an avid forum user in general. Most other foruns I use have a DIY section. This site seems to have active members which leads me to believe there is a ton of information regarding DIY. I relaize that search, and search some more is one of the most painstaking, time consuming things but also informative. I'm just woundering if its even possible to add this section to the forum. I'm sure it would benifit many looking to do somthing without the hassel of serching for somthing that's not there or asking a question that's been answered but not shown. Just a thought. Love this site thus far and the members are very friendly and helpful.

Nobody here works on their bike. We're part of the top one percent. So we pay others to do it for us. We ride, we don't wrench.:welcome:

Hmm.. well I'm not sure I'm in the right place then. I'm a firm believer in working on what you drive/ride. Don't mean to offend any of the 1% that's afraid to get their nails dirty. But its ood how there is a mechanics garage secton section. I guess. that's the rest of the 99% of the vfr population :)

I think you'll find that most people just post the question and then they'll get a handful of people telling them to do a search, then another handful, giving advice. Ultimately if the topic already exist you usually find someone putting a link in the thread. Depending on what you're looking for, I'm sure somebody here has done it or is currently working on it. But to be fair, you should always to at least a rudimentary search first.

Oh, in case you haven't picked up on it yet...there's a lot of sarcasm floating around here.

Yes I'm very aware of the whole search process and the way froums function. Which Is why my post is in the suggetion section. Just being a forum user for other things I have found that a simple DIY section makes a lot less reposting asking the same questions and also makes for good reading up on ideas for new DIY. Not to mention a lot less hours when searching for somthing you need. Like I said just a suggestion. And yes I seem to be getting replies to anything posted which to me is always a good sign in any forum. Means I'll have plenty of opinions when I'm in need of them.. useful or not . Lol

a couple years ago we went through a reorganization of the site if you will. we tried to really pare it down to simplify the forum selection so it was quicker to get to the messages. In doing so, we merged some of the forums together like DIY and mechanics garage, etc. When you have 40 forums and 20 see a lot of use and 20 don't you start thinking maybe 20 are superfluous. We do like having a lot of info on here, but routinely try to organize it as much as we can. The search function is not as great as one might hope. It seems every time you think you have a good algorithm, someone comes up with a way to circumvent it. bad spelling, wrong area, etc. the best suggestion was to try the search, but also post a message saying what you'd like to know and then someone may remember what the thread was called. Just for example, I named a DIY thread I did about modifying my voltage regulator something like 'changing r/r to yammy R1 style' or some such crazy shit. You'll probably never find it unless you do a search for yammy cause there are 40000 posts on here about voltage regulators. good luck.

Well, there goes the neighborhood again.

Now I'm wondering if somewhere out there there are folks who have piano dolly collections.

And I thought Ronnie went crazy with his bike.

Stosh must hold the world record for most different crazy ass colors on one VFR....srlsy, have you contacted Guiness yet Stosh?

When you get ready to head to Wisconsin Toecutter, call me and we'll get some guys to all go up there and stand around Stosh's bike and act like clowns, in keeping with the theme, ya know.

Where can I see more pictures of this ? Flickr ? Youtube ? any online collections ? And how far along is it now , compared to when the pic was taken ? Is there a thread for progress somewhere ? It sure doesn't look like congress....

I didnt connect the photo of reference, new to the forum here, but im talking about the colorful bike of StoshMonster.
