hello out there. just wondering how many edmonton riders there are. our season is rapidly ending and it brings thoughts of heated clothing. the 3 degree ride the other day would have been a lot nicer with it......

Not too many viffers in this area, I've only ever seen six to seven VFR riders in the last two years. I notice them more on the west coast, the rare times that I'm out that way. You're right about the season rapidly ending, it will be down to freezing temps tonight, so early morning rides will be frosty to say the least.

There is a planned VFR meet in Nelson BC next August being organized at another VFR site, I may be able to participate but I cant commit until after the new year.

    hey borg

thanks for the reply. talk about chilly. i now know that the outside temp guage on the bike does do negative numbers. was -2 C on my ride to work. a little freash to say the least. the ride to bc sounds cool. have to see how the family commitments are around that time. gave the bike a wax last night and am now thinking about getting it a cover for the garage. too soon if you ask me.

    ride safe.

I don't want to think about storing the bike in the garage just yet, even though the weatherman might dictate otherwise.........I'll keep my fingers crossed for warmer temps to extend the riding season until the end of September to early part of October at least.

What color is your bike and what kind of wax do you use?

I don't have bike cover but I think it's a good idea, it will keep the dust from accumulating on the bike during the winter. I have a mini California Duster that I use to keep the dust off, it only takes a few minutes once a week.

i have the cosmic pearl black. love the color in the sun as it looks like a clear night sky. thousands of shining lights, it rocks. as for the wax, i use the platinum meguiars (spelling?) it goes on really well and with the blue magic cloths from walmart, it really shines it up nice. they also have a scratch remover that works well also. it gets rid of the small scratches but the deep ones, you would have to use a more aggressive cut polish.

went for a little ride yesturday and it was quite nice. just for an hour after work. still found the bugs out in full force so now another bath for the bike is in order. oh well, if it needs washing, it means that i am still riding it.

anyway, better get some things done around here. take care.

I think I'll wait a couple more weeks, still to much gravel for my taste.
Not sure when the sweepers will be around my area? Soon I hope.

I had mine out last weekend and today. A little chilly! We should try and get a few VFRs out for bike nights at the Ranch on wednesday nights this summer.I think it starts in early may.Usually lots of bikes out on those nights.

    Snow!!

    Hey Guys,

I am in Edmonton and just got my bike home yesterday. Good thing as there is snow on the ground this morning. I have a 5th gen silver VFR and would be up for getting a group of VFRs together for a ride. From what I can remember I have only ever seen 1 VFR out on Whyte ave (it was a RWB 6th gen).

    See you on the road!
